Welcome to FLY- Faith Lutheran Youth!
Youth from 7th to 12th grade are invited to join us as we learn more about our faith and salvation through Jesus Christ. We meet on Sundays during Sunday School (9:45-10:30) and Wednesday evenings. The usual Wednesday FLY schedule is dinner at 5:30, worship at 6:15, then Bible study and activities until 8pm. During Advent and Lent, our schedule is different: we meet at 5:30 for open gym, then join the congregation for dinner and the service at 6.
Our goal is to build a relationship with Jesus Christ, as well as build relationships with one another. We want to be able to defend our faith, understand grace through faith (via New Testament studies), and have familiarity with the history of our faith (via Old Testament studies). In short, we want to equip our students to be independent Christians.
What is an independent Christian? Someone who lives like a disciple, not because they’re told, but because they want to. Someone who isn’t afraid when they don’t know an answer, but knows that they can turn to their Bible or Pastor. An independent Christian is someone who desires a deeper, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t happen on your own. We need a support group and fellowship to build each other up and challenge one another. So join us on Wednesdays and Sundays to see what we’re all about!
