Stephen Ministry

Our Mission Statement:   Stephen Ministry is a ministry of care giving relying on God to be the cure giver.

What is Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations that use the Stephen Series system.  Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.

Who are the Care Receivers?

Congregation members and others in the community who could benefit from:
                *  Receiving quality, Christ-centered, confidential care for their hurts and needs;
              *  Finding hope, healing, and a new sense of self-worth through the support of a Stephen Minister;
               *  Receiving ongoing care for continuing needs long after the onset of a crisis

Who are the Stephen Ministers – Care Givers?

Congregation members who have trained for 50 hours to offer high-quality, one-on-one Christian care.  Stephen Ministers come from all walks of life.  Their commonality is a passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people during a time of need.

Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ

Galatians 6:2

There Is No Need To Struggle Alone...

Everyone goes through difficult times. When you have someone to care, to listen, to share God’s love with you can help you get through the confusion, stress, or loneliness you may be experiencing. God does not intend for you to struggle alone.

Examples of problems Stephen Ministers deal with include:
Hospitalization, declining health, disability or terminal illness, illness of a loved one, the death of a loved one, divorce or separation from spouse, severe financial setback, difficulties associated with aging, family or domestic problems, isolation or loneliness

If you have any questions about this ministry, contact the church office to get a referral to a Stephen Leader.

Consider allowing a Stephen Minister to walk with you on your journey to wholeness.
